Customs Clearance and Landed Costing

OceanAirLink is proud of its Customs Brokerage section, as our staff are experienced Customs Brokers who are customer service oriented and well equipped to service any importers business. A dedicated Customs Broker is appointed to manage the importer’s account with assistants under his supervision.

OceanAirLink will verify the integrity and completeness of the import documentation and request additional information if required prior to the arrival of the shipment after receiving import documentation electronically . OceanAirLink will then facilitate the relevant clearances with: Customs, Shipping lines, AQIS and other interested parties.

OceanAirLink has developed a commodity database for all clients to facilitate automated Customs entries, and to ensure accurate classification of the goods. The database is updated as new parts and machines are introduced.

Following the import clearance from ACS, all relevant data pertaining to the shipment will be compiled and a landed costing report will be produced. These reports may be electronically transmitted to the importer.


Inland transport / Incident Handling / Security Measures

The selection of the transport companies OceanAirLink use are made according to our ISO policy. All transport companies shall be approved and registered in our ASL (Approved Subcontractor Listing), and their performance are regularly reviewed, ensuring all importers receive the quality service that we have promised.


OceanAirLink will take every possible measure to prevent any incident, such as damage and/or loss whilst cargo is under our jurisdiction. However in the event of loss, damage and/or short shipment, OceanAirLink will advise importer’s prior to cargo delivery with digital photos where necessary. OceanAirLink will investigate the root cause to take immediate corrective action when necessary.

If required by the importer all exceptions/incidents will be consolidated on a monthly report for performance review purposes.

OceanAirLink will ensure the security of all cargo whilst under our jurisdiction. OceanAirLink is fully aware of the nature of their customers products and will take utmost care to prevent from theft, pilferage and damage by means of but not limited to; the usage of wire net, plywood protection board, pure pallet building, pallet lock, container seal, intact pallet, and pick up upon arrival with 24 hours security surveillance at our warehouse. OceanAirLink is more than happy to discuss any further security measures to be undertaken for any shipments to Australia.
